A little inspiration from Armani

Giorgio-Armani-Pre-Fall-2014-2

I’ve always loved Armani. The clothes he designed have been an epitome of style and even the way the name slipped off the tongue felt elegant. That elegance, however, was often very substantial, grown-up to the point of being mature, something that a woman of a certain age would reach for whenever in need of looking her very best and most beautiful, say, the Oscars.

Thus, loving Armani felt intimidating until now. Then I saw the Pre-Fall 2014. It made me smile.

Still elegant, sharp and smart, the collection had an element of youthfulness about it. Strangely, the clothes didn’t change and still felt very Armani, but the feeling they gave was different.

I may not be able (or want) to wear a pink jacket just yet, but I will definitely be borrowing the shapes and ideas from this collection and the three outfits in particular. Absolutely adore them!

Aymeline Valade: the Autumn star and my secret girl crush

aymeline valade giorgio armani fall 2012

When did I first notice this gorgeous Parisienne? I don’t really know… She just happened. Like a miracle. I loved her face - chiseled cheek bones, eyes, pout – a perfect harmony that makes a supermodel. I think she is stunning, just stunning, without any doubts or explanation.

This Autumn Aymeline Valade was photographed for several big Fall 2012 campaigns and made them look like a work of art. I have already framed one of the Armani shots, so precise, so chic, so very very classy.

If it was up to me, I would make her a face of everything, from perfumes to bags to sunglasses to clothes and jewellery because she adds a touch of timeless quality to every photo. I find her incredibly inspirational.

This season Giorgio Armani campaigns really press all the right buttons in me. Those images are just as gorgeous as the video for Giorgio Armani Frames for Life campaign. Just adore everything, especially when captured in black&white form.
