It seems as if Paris fashion week finished ages ago. One of my favourite, it was beautiful, but made me feel deflated. Not in a disappointed deflated way, but deflated like a balloon, that happy bouncy candy coloured object that at some point becomes limp and sad looking.
The emotional tiredness was part of the reason why I didn’t talk about Paris last Friday. I also wanted to give myself a little extra time to digest and decide on my favourites. And whilst I could pick the looks it turned out to be just one collection that I will remember as a highlight of Paris fashion week Fall/Winter 2013-2014.
Celine.
The most wonderful, most wearable, beautiful, graphic, classy, sober, simple collection, each piece – a drawing, a beautiful inspirational combination of pencil strokes. The way every look was shaped, the way the clothes moved, the shrug that made the back of the neck and shoulders look so fragile and yet protected, the embrace of the sleeves knotted at the chest, the way jewellery touched the skin… It really took my breath away. I can honestly say that this Celine collection is my absolute favourite since Spring/Summer 2010.
