Two berries for my fashion basket, please. The Mulberry and Burberry will do nicely. My two favourite collection this season chosen for their romantic appeal and beautiful craftsmanship.
While the Burberry Prorsum was like a box of sweet and dainty macaroons, the Mulberry stole my heart with the girlish charm for the grown-ups, the white looks, the English bulldog (I did miss Max, the poodle, though!) and new handbags in delicious pastels. It felt emotional seeing Emma Hill appearing on a catwalk at the end of the show for her final bow – she will be missed and remembered for the designer really took the brand to another fashion galaxy. Whoever comes next will have a tough job fitting her shoes.
And how I wish I could ever get a chance to see the Burberry show in person. It was so sensual and full of floral charms just like the rose petals that covered the ground. The head-to-toe lace, the softly swinging cashmere cardigans and coats, the draped skirts and the bows on the back of the sweaters, the magical rose petal rain… They were dreamy. I watched the live stream, of course – I wouldn’t miss it for the world, but on the back of my mind I kept thinking of getting an opportunity to inhale that air, absorb the atmosphere and see the textures of the materials and details. Wouldn’t it be wonderful?
