He combined the sensual and elegant forties and romantic seventies and came up with one of his most beautiful collections to date. I am talking, of course, of the one and only Michael Kors.
His Spring/Summer 2014 was a breath of fresh air starting with a classic white linen suit made of a sharp blazer and swishy skirt, followed by floaty crepe, georgette and lace dresses in shades of sand, clouds and sky, covered in delicate prints or embroidery and cinched with a belt, and then – relaxed and luxurious gabardine trousers combined with silk blouses in lavender and ivory, grey vests and cardigans and classic trench coats. The leather, raffia and python bags and shoes in delicious caramel and chocolate, were as classy as they could be.
It made me feel serene and happy as, until that blissful moment, I was getting in a state of fashion discomfort seeing show after show of clothes that were beautiful, but more suitable for paparazzi shots and girls without hips who can look chic in a bin bag because mother nature made them that way.
Kors, however, celebrated a wonderful feeling of being a woman, a woman who wants to feel strong, romantic, sexy and effortlessly elegant. Every. Single. Day. Of. Her. Life.
I couldn’t have asked for more.
