This is a post where I say farewell to summer and share September plans

And so it’s almost over. The summer that taught me not to make plans. Not now, not ever. Oh, those ideas that were buzzing in my head at the end of May! Go to London, go to Brighton, go all over the country following the summer sun and disappearing into horizon, silk dresses, straw hats, music, laughter and endless supplies of delicious treats for cosy picnics. Get out with Oscar and walk and walk and walk until we’d be tired and fall into the soft grass for cuddles and silly stolen doggy kisses. Exercise for extra happiness. Wear every single pair of shoes I had in my wardrobe. Step into the sea barefoot and enjoy the feeling of cool water caressing the skin. Take plenty of photos and share them on the blog.

Oh, those plans… All ruined one morning when, as I only recently discovered, I tore my muscle fibres to shreds. And so the shoes had to remain in their boxes replaced by some newly bought flats and beaten up, but oh-so-comfortable trainers. The walks and trips went out of the window followed by any photography related ideas…

The list was carefully shaped into a tidy looking ball and ended up in a bin – after all I had plenty of time for such a pointless activity as paper craft. I ended up in bed and later, my office chair, spending most of the time with PC or books, clients and a mountain of paperwork. Not that I am going to complain, though. I enjoyed those, too. Plus, lets not forget the interview with Karlina Caune – an absolute highlight of my summer blogging. As for the rest, I just wish I had a choice, a little bit more choice, especially in regards to my footwear.

And so I am saying farewell to a slightly bland summer and am really looking forward to September – the next four weeks that should be exciting enough to compensate for the recent lack of joyous affairs.

It will be a fashion month, starting with a wonderful little project that’s very close to my heart immediately followed by an exhibition called “Self-portraits” – a joint project between British Harper’s Bazaar and Viva London Model Management that will feature 30 self-portraits of models and talents taken in the most intimate and private moments of their lives.

A beautiful, intelligent and thought-provoking, the exhibition will open to the public from 4 to 18 September at The Shop at Bluebird and be available on-line at www.harpersbazaar.co.uk/fashion from 3 September. If you absolutely cannot wait to see some of the photos, grab (or download) a copy of the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar and enjoy.

My other wonderful discovery will be an interview with an absolute gem whose answered left me wondered if I just found a soul mate…

And then the fashion week will begin. The time when the fashion world survives on litres of coffee, packets of sweets, vitamin C-packed  smoothies and air full of adrenalin, inspiration and excitement. Here I will be watching from the comfort of my room, with a cup of green tea, accompanied by my darling little dog who never misses live shows and Prada, in particular. Don’t ask why or how – I have no idea.

Somewhere in a midst of all the extravaganza I will talk about another Bag of the Month, share my high street favourites in the Autumn comes to… series, finish reading  D.V. by Diana Vreeland and treat myself to Giambattista Valli by Giambattista Valli & Francesco Clemente, Alexander Mcqueen: Photographs by Nick Waplington and Alexander McQueen: The Life and Legacy by Judith Watt.

And the last week of September will be my own fashion week. At the moment the idea of researching yet another designer and writing at least five stories seems a little bit insane, but… “there is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness” as Nietzsche said. I love fashion, so, I guess, that explains the insanity and a burst of endorphins filling my brain cells every time I think of autumn. And I do hope, the high heels will come out of their boxes in a few weeks, too. Because, seriously, I had enough of flats…
