It’s a cold morning, the true unadorned autumn morning that comes with a mist of rain, cotton wool fogs and clouds so thick that you can’t see the sky. My initial response is to crawl back to bed, hide under my huge, oh-so-inviting, fluffy and warm duvet, hug Oscar and hibernate. I suppose I could turn on the heating, but in a way it means giving into the new season completely, embracing it with a positive attitude and generous supplies of steaming cups of matcha. And candles… Fragrant, comforting, mesmerising candles… Perhaps, this is where I am going to start. The candles and a story from the April 2006 issue of Italian Vogue.

Timeless chic: Chloe Spring 2006

With the summer coming to its end I have been frantically sorting out my favourites for the Timeless chic series picking the ones I cannot finish the season without.

So lets talk Chloe Spring 2006, the gorgeous easy-to-wear collection inspired by the 1960s blouses and, believe it or not, old ladies. Only Phoebe Philo could start with something so dusty and produce the prettiest collection made of summer must-haves, from smoke dresses and sheer blouses to ruffled skirts and chic coats spotting the most gorgeous embroidery, appliques, pleats, frills, buttons, bows and flowers. What could make a girl happier? Only a pair of those sky-high Chloe wedges that playfully tie around the ankles in a sweet leather bow.

Many lives of a Bottega Veneta dress

Bottega Veneta is my endless love story. And though I may never be able to wear every Bottega dress that I have fallen in love with, I will always enjoy collecting the photos from numerous editorials, re-living my dreams and savouring every detail.

From the research point of view – so curious to see how different countries and magazines make their choices. While the first dress was on demand in Italy, the floral numbers travelled all over the world, from Europe to the States, Mexico, Thailand and Japan reuniting in Russia half way through.

And Edie Campbell got to wear hers twice! I guess it’s a bit like meeting an old friend or colleague you’ve already done a shoot with. Only, unlike the dress that, for obvious reasons, cannot speak, the friend would definitely comment on Edie’s hair.
